QUETTA, Sept 26: Two persons were arrested on Friday after a large number of people from a village near the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan staged a demonstration in Chaman and pelted stones on Frontier Corps personnel.

Reports suggested that the people from the border village of Killi Haji Akbar gathered at the Friendship Gate near the border and chanted slogans against members of the Pakistani border security force.

They pelted stones when security force officials warned them to desist. FC men resorted to baton-charge to disperse demonstrators. Those, who were arrested, were identified as Abdul Khaliq and Abdul Rahim.
