By Our Correspondent

PESHAWAR, Sept 21: Trials to select NWFP team for the National Senior Swimming Championship will be held at the Adil Khan Swimming Pool Qayyum Stadium on Monday.

A contingent of 10 players would be selected to take part in the event.

Interested swimmers have been asked to report to secretary NWFP Swimming Association on Monday at 4pm.

The championship is scheduled to be held at Islamabad from Oct 9.

Meanwhile, secretary NWFP Swimming Association Asif Khan, has demanded scholarship for the swimmers who had won 16 medals for the province in the junior National Swimming Championship.

A five-member women’s swimming team will take part in the National Women Swimming Championship in Karachi.

About 40 girl students have been already selected from some private schools.

The association would organise competition among the selected girls in the last week of September and the best five swimmers among them would be selected to represent NWFP in the National Women Championship in Karachi.

The team would be accompanied by five women technical officials.

Similarly, a camp for boys will be held shortly who will be trained by a coach to be provided by the Pakistan Swimming Federation.
