KARACHI: Two youths drown in sea

KARACHI, Sept 21: Two young men drowned in the sea in separate incidents off different beaches on Sunday.

Edhi sources said that a young man, identified as Imran Mashi, 19, was swimming in the sea along with some friends near PNS Himaliya when he was swept away by strong currents.

In another incident, a young man, Sultan, in his early 20’s drowned in the sea off the Gadani beach on Sunday.

Edhi sources said that victim was on a fishing trip on a boat when he jumped into the sea to recover his cellular phone, which fell into the seawater.

His friends tried to save him but failed in their efforts.

Both the bodies could not be recovered from the sea till Sunday night.

ACCIDENT: An unidentified young man died in a road traffic accident in Shah Latif town on Sunday.

Police said that unknown victim, in his mid 40’s, was knocked down by a speeding coach (PE-0400).

The injured was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he died during treatment, the police said. The errant driver escaped from the spot leaving the vehicle.

DIES: A young man allegedly died in accidental firing in Mahmoodabad late on Saturday night.

Police said that Aziz, 25, was handling repeater gun of his friend’s father when it accidentally went off, killing him instantly.

The police said that his body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for the post-mortem examination.
