Punjab and Diamond in semis

ISLAMABAD, Sept 20: Punjab and Diamond Clubs advanced to the semifinals of the Islamabad Cricket Association President Cup as did PTV and CRA.

PTV battered Rawal Town into submission, handing them a 10- wicket defeat at the Marghazar Ground while CRA eliminated Essco scoring a five-wicket win at the Lal Quarters Ground.

Punjab squeezed through with a narrow one-wicket victory over Asif Memorial and Diamond beat XI Star by three wickets.

In the semifinals scheduled for Sunday, Punjab will take on CRA with Diamond facing off PTV.

Punjab bt Asif Memorial by one wicket at CRA Ground. Asif Memorial 144-8 in 25 overs (Kaleem Abbasi 41, Raheel Majeed 20; Muhammad Adnan 4-19, Ulfat Hussain 2-14); Punjab 146-9 in 23.5 overs (Arslaan Zaheer 24 not out, Abdul Rauf Mirza 23, Ulfat Hussain 23; Mustafa Bashir 3-25).

Diamond bt XI Star by three wickets at Punjab Ground.
