DHAKA, Sept 20: Despite differences, lawmakers from Bangladesh’s various political parties have got together to address two global issues — HIV/AIDS and trafficking — as the country is now at a high risk of HIV infection.
Seventeen lawmakers from the ruling Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Awami League (AL), Jatiya Party (JP) and Jamaat-i-Islami have formed the “Bangladesh Parliamentary Support Group on prevention of HIV/AIDS and Trafficking”.
The lawmakers observed that it was their sole responsibility to make the people aware and prepare them for nation building through safeguarding from any unfavourable situation.
