TOBA TEK SINGH, Sept 18: Wapda will soon introduce small transformers of 10 KVA and 15 KVA for those consumers who wanted to install small industrial units.
This was stated here by Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) chief executive Brig Tariq Rasool at a press conference on Wednesday.
He said earlier transformers of 25 KVA were available and the small units having the capacity of 15 KVA were forced to purchase them. He said a proposal had recently been forwarded to high ups to divide Toba Tek Singh division into two — Toba and Kamalia — as the former has around 145,000 consumers.
The establishment of Shorkot division has temporarily been suspended because the consumers in Atthara Hazari area opposed it on the plea that they would have to travel a long distance for redressal of their complaints.
He said funds for electrification of 58 villages had been received while electrification of 29 villages was in progress.
Brig Tariq said eight employees were terminated from service and nine were compulsorily retired on corruption and negligence charges.
