HYDERABAD, Sept 18: The Sindh Hari Committee has condemned the attitude of the Mari gas field management against the local people and resolved to launch a struggle against usurpation of Sindh resources and water share.

This decision was taken at a meeting of the central body of the committee held at the Baba-i-Sindh House here on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, SHC president Azhar Jatoi said the gas field management was committing excesses against the people and the ruling class was maintaining a silence on the issue.

He said false cases were registered against peasant leader Mandal Shar and his son, Jamal Nasir, to prevent them from raising their voice for the rights of the local people.

He stressed the need for forming an new alliance to protect the rights of Sindh.

SEMINAR: A seminar on “Literacy and Knowledge in the Eyes of Hazrat Ali” was held at the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, on Thursday.

The one-day seminar was organized by the Yaum-i-Mustafa-wa-Murtaza Committee of the university.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Zahid Ali Zahidi of the Karachi University said Hazrat Ali was the symbol of knowledge and literacy and he fought against ignorance. He said he was the pioneer of many sciences.

Pakistan Al-Mustafa Organization chairman Prof Syed Farman Ali Shah said Hazrat Ali was the fountainhead of knowledge.

Prof Dr Dost Ali Khwaja, Akhlaq Ahmad Akhlaq, Prof Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Panhwar and others also spoke on the occasion.
