KARACHI: Services of Bahadur Yar Jang lauded

KARACHI, Sept 18: The Muslims of the Sub-continent have experienced many tragedies like debacle of Dhaka, Hyderabad and Junagarh in the history, and they needed to reflect on the circumstances which led to these tragedies, City Nazim Naimatullah Khan said.

He was speaking at a seminar, “Biad Hyderabad State” organized on Wednesday by the Bahadur Yar Jang Acad-emy to mark debacle of Hyderabad.

He said that to prevent such tragedies in future it was necessary to infuse new spirit and resolve in ourselves.

Lauding the efforts of Nawab Bahadur Yar Jang, he maintained that he was one of the founders of Pakistan, who rendered great services for achieving the country’ freedom, and added that debacle of Hyderabad led to diminishing of the Muslim culture from that area.

Prof Khawja Qutabuddin, Dr Mohammad Yaqoob Mughal and Shamim Akhtar also spoke on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the city government donated Rs0.1 million for the Academy for the promotion of educational activities.—PPI
