KARACHI: Varsity status demanded


KARACHI, Sept 15: The Dawood College for Engineering and Technology (DCET) held a seminar under the Study Aid Project (SAP), based on “ Journey of Dawood Engineering College, its past, present and future.”

Prof Saeed Ahmed Khan discussed several engineering courses like Electronic, Chemical, Electrical, Metallurgy and Architecture technologies offered by the college. He said every year 450 students pass out from the College and serve in several government and private organisations in the country.

In charge of SAP, Iftikhar Ahmed Sawati, demanded of federal education ministry to grant rights to Dawood College for awarding degrees to save the future of students.

Jamshed Town Nazim Ahmed Qasim Parekh, who was chief guest at the occasion, demanded restoration of registration of the college with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), and announced a donation of 1,000 books for the College.

MP Gangwani, chairman of the Institutions of Engineering (IEP) said Dawood college was the first to introduce industrial and metallurgy technologies in Pakistan, adding that SAP always guided the students.

Many college students, teachers and engineers were present on the occasion.—PPI
