KARACHI, Sept 15:A housewife was killed by unknown persons in her house in FB Area on Monday.

Police said that Ummeda Saeed, 40, was alone in the house when some unknown persons barged into the house in Block 16 and killed her by inflicting an injury with a blunt weapon on her head.

The police said that household items were lying upside down in the house.

The police said that victim’s husband was in Saudi Arabia and her three children were in the school at the time of the incident.

According to the initial investigations, the incident seemed to be an act of robbery, but the eldest daughter was too young to ascertain the missing valuables.

The body was shifted by the police to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for the post-mortem examination.

SHOT DEAD: A man shot dead his brother and injured three other relatives in Quaidabad late on Sunday night.

Police said that suspects Gul Zaman and his son Qamar Zaman came at the house of Chaman Gul and called him out of his house in Gul Ahmed Colony, Quaidabad.

As the Chaman Gul came out of the house, the suspects opened fire at him and escaped from the spot, the police said.

Three other inmates were also injured in the firing, the police added. The police shifted the body to the JPMC for the post-mortem examination.

The police suspected that a personal enmity could be a motive of the killing.

ACCIDENT: A middle-aged man died in a road traffic accident in Sir Syed Town on Monday.

Police said that an unknown man in his early 50’s was crossing the main road when an unknown vehicle knocked him down.

The victim was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The accident occurred in front of the Sir Syed police station.

BODY FOUND: An unidentified body of a young man was found in Quaidabad early on Monday morning.

Police said that victim had been strangulated to death by the unknown persons, his body was dumped in Lalabad Park, Quaidabad.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for the post-mortem examination.

Later, the body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification, the police added.

ARRESTED: The Rangers on Monday claimed to have arrested two activists of a banned sectarian organization from Korangi.

A spokesman for the paramilitary force said that the two suspects Yawar Abbas and Hashim Balti, alleged activists of Sipah-i-Mohammad, were picked up by Rangers from Korangi, 100 Quarters, on late Sunday night.

The spokesman claimed that the two suspects had been involved in several terrorist activities, including the killing of the five brothers in Jamshed quarters, killing of six persons of a madrassah belonging to the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba at Drig Road and firing at Rehmania Masjid in Bufferzone, in which eight persons died.

The spokesman added that the two suspects had been handed over to the police for interrogation.

Police on late Sunday night claimed to have arrested two suspected carjackers and recovered arms and ammunition and a vehicle from them in Defence.

During routine patrolling, the Gizri police spotted a suspicious vehicle parked near Aisha Masjid on Khayaban-i-Itthad.

The police arrested two suspects, identified as Shah Murad and Ashiq Husain, while two of their accomplices managed to escape from the spot, leaving behind two pistols.
