KARACHI, Sept 12: As many as 9,223 female students, including 1894 A graders, have been placed for admission to first year Pre-Medical classes (session 2003-2004) at 47 city government colleges and higher secondary schools.

Releasing the list on Friday, a member of the admission committee set up under the Centralized Admission Policy, said that all the applicants had been considered for admission. Against the 10185 seats allocated for admission at different educational institutions, including the five recently launched colleges, 9223 applicants were found eligible and all of them had now been placed at different colleges and higher secondary schools, he added.

Last year a total of 8956 female students were admitted to the medial faculty; this year the number has increased by 267.

The admission merit had also increased at many colleges including St Joseph’s College for Women, PECHS College for Women, ST Lawrence College, Stadium Road College, Malir Cantt Degree College, Khatoon-e-Pakistan College, Sir Syed Girls College, Gulshan-i-Iqbal College and Government College for Women, Nazimabad.

A total of 1,894 applicants passed the matriculation examinations with A-1 grade, 2,629 with A grade, 2,584 with B grade, 1,723 with C grade, 387 with D grade and 6 with E grade. All of them have been placed for admission this year.

Candidates selected for admission have been asked to finalize their admission within seven days. The CAP committee has set up three centres for receiving claim forms from applicants having any objection to their placement.

The centres will work at Sir Syed Government College for Women, Government College for Women Shahrah-i-Liaquat, and Khurshid Government College for Women.
