KARACHI: Two killed in traffic accidents

KARACHI, Sept 8: Two persons died in separate road traffic accidents in different parts of the city on Monday.

Police said that Erum, an eight-year-old girl, was knocked down by a Super Hasan Zai passenger coach, when she was disembarking from a passenger vehicle at the main Clifton Road.

The victim was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police claimed to have arrested the conductor of the coach, while the driver escaped from the spot.

Meanwhile, an unknown youth died in a road traffic accident in Korangi Industrial Area on Monday.

Police said that the unidentified youth, in his late teens, was knocked down by an unknown vehicle near Singer Chowrangi, KIA.

The victim died on the spot and his body was shifted to the JPMC for the post-mortem examination.

DIES: A young woman died of burns while checking the water level in the underground tank in Mehmoodabad, late on Sunday night.

Police said that Sobia, 18, had lighted a match to see the water level in the underground tank in her house in Kashmir Colony, causing accumulated gases to ignite.
