HYDERABAD, Sept 8: The Sindh University Advanced Study and Research Board has reduced the fee package for MPhil and PhD and approved the new fee package for MPhil and PhD to promote research activities in the University of Sindh.
The decision regarding it was taken at a special meeting of the Advanced Study and Research Board, which was presided over by the university’s vice-chancellor on Monday.
The meeting also finalized the rules and regulations for the registration of candidates in MPhil and PhD programme in the faculties and to conduct research through course work.
It considered the report of the four-member sub-committee to recommend fee structure and approved the new fee package for the two-year MPhil programme at Rs5,100, including registration fee and other utility charges from the local students instead of Rs9,000 per year.
It also allowed 50 per cent concession to the teachers of the university and affiliated colleges.
It reduced and approved the fee package for MPhil programme for foreign students/scholars and fixed the fee at $500, including registration fee and other utility charges, per year instead of $2000 per year.
It discussed in detail the fee package for the registration of PhD candidates and allowed a concession of Rs3,000 in the fee package per year for local students.
The meeting approved fee package for foreign students at $1000 per year instead of $2000 per year.
The meeting, in the light of the report of the committee, discussed rules and regulations for the research programme to facilitate the scholars of MPhil and PhD programme.
