KARACHI: Karachi package


KARACHI, Sept 8: The City Government will utilize the Karachi Development package, announced by President Gen Musharraf, to resolve the problems of the city, and to bring a pleasant change in the city.

City Nazim Naimatullah Khan stated this while speaking at a public meeting, organized in connection with installation of lights in union council of Gulberg Town on Saturday night.

City Nazim said that the government had made Karachi once again the city of lights and maintained that funds had been provided to union councils to resolve the problems at local level with proper monitoring system.

He thanked the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) authorities for launching development projects in the interest of the city.

He said Rs80 million had been allocated for repairs of roads damaged by rains and assured that repair work would be completed in two month.

He said that quality roads would be built in the city irrespective of heavy cost and held the previous city administration responsible for building low quality roads, which were devastated by the rains.—PPI
