KARACHI, Sept 8: Eight ships carrying chemicals, containers and general cargo are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, Gao He, AP Pride to unload and load containers and Nur Yanbu to offload chemicals were berthed.

Sailing was also on the lower side of the daily average as three ships, Mercs Komari, Warbah and Sorena departed, while Izumo, AP Pride, Go He and Aris Totelis are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Owing to lesser handling of the liquid cargo, the total tonnage fell to 34,892 tons comprising 17,882 tons of export cargo and 17,010 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Nur Al-Jubail, with chemicals, Med Keelung, Sima Raja, Kota Berjaya, Sinar Bangka, APL Emerald, Global Progress, Kota Indah, with containers, Alaska Carrier, with general cargo.
