KARACHI: Shujaat reposes trust in Mahar’s leadership
KARACHI, Sept 7: President of the PML-Q Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain has expressed his full confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mehar and called upon the party workers to shun their differences and work in the greater interest of the party and the nation, a statement released here on Sunday by the CM’s Secretariat said.
Mr Hussain was talking to Mr Mahar and other party leaders at a luncheon hosted in his honour by the chief minister.
The PML-Q chief said that reorganization of the party would be carried out with due consultation among party leaders. He said that the five-member committee, headed by Senator Nisar Memon, would complete the process in the next three months.
The party has to play a very important role in the socio-economic development of the country, he said.
Mr Mehar is a very competent leader serving the province and its people. He hoped that the provincial leadership would continue to work for the development of the province in a very positive and cordial atmosphere.
In his welcome address, the chief minister said that a consensus on all issues existed among all the party leaders and there was a complete harmony of relations among the coalition partners and other allied parties.
Mr Mahar pointed out that the government was working for the betterment of the people and socio-economic uplift of the province.
The meeting was attended by federal Minister for Industries Liaquat Jatoi, Minister for Investment Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Senator Nisar Ahmed Memon, members of the provincial cabinet and party leaders.
MEETS GOVERNOR: The PML-Q chief also held a meeting with Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad at Governor House here on Sunday.
The convener of the party’s organizing committee, Senator Nisar Memon, and Senior Vice-President Lt-Gen (r) Majeed Malik were also present on the occasion.
The governor highlighted the ongoing development schemes as well as public welfare projects in the province.
He informed Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain that the Sindh coalition was making satisfactory progress with its clearly determined priorities. He expressed satisfaction that all the allies were working together for serving the people, province and the country and for national cohesion.
Dr Ibad told Mr Hussain that special attention was being paid to improve law and order so that investment could get a boost, job opportunities increased and economic progress achieved.
He described the Centre-province relationship and the inter-provincial harmony as ‘exemplary’.
The PML-Q chief appreciated the efforts being made by the coalition and held out the assurance that his party would further strengthen the coalitions at the Centre and in the province.
He remarked that the objective of the PML-Q leadership was to take care of each other and work together for the uplift of all parts of the country and betterment of the people.
