Nazim warns adulterators of action

MARDAN, Sept 6: Mardan district Nazim Haji Raza Khan has directed food department authorities to proceed against those involved in adulteration in food items and punish them according to new law introduced by the federal government to curb this menace.

He was speaking at the monthly meeting of district price review committee here on Saturday.

The meeting discussed the demand and supply situation of different commodities in the market and made minor alterations in grocery prices, while the rates of other items were left unchanged.

Haji Raza resented the sale of low quality and adulterated food items in bazars, specially in the rural areas, and urged the food department to carry out regular checking and take action against those involved in the manufacture and sale of adulterated items.

He asked the shopkeepers to display the rate list at their shops and follow the prices fixed by the committee.

Besides, assistant coordination officer (ACO) Syed Mohsin Shah, district food controller Abdul Jalil, union Nazims Humayun Khilji, Sareer Khan, Haji Zafar and Janab Ali, the meeting was also attended by Markazi Tanzim Tajiran president Ihsan Bacha, representatives of Karyana merchants, butchers, hotel owners, sweets shops and bakers and Nanbais.
