KARACHI: Water issue not political in nature: Asghar Khan

KARACHI, Sept 5: The chief of the Qaumi Jamhoori Party (QJP), Air Marshal Asghar Khan, has said that the water issue is technical in nature and not a political one.

Talking to the APP on Friday, he further remarked: “It (water) is a technical issue and must be dealt with accordingly.”

The veteran politician suggested that a high-level technical committee be formed to take up the water issue in the country, besides holding of debate on the issue.

He demanded that all the facts related to the issue should be brought before the people and they should be apprised of the nature of the issue.

Mr Khan pointed out that at present the country was faced with a number of problems, both external and internal.

He urged the people with clean character to join hands and make concerted efforts for the resolution of the people’s problems and also to steer the country out of difficulties.

He was in favour of improving relations with India.

Mr Khan stressed that steps must be taken to fortify country’s solidarity and added that democracy should be restored in its true sense.—APP
