MADRID, Sept 5: Spanish police on Friday said they had detained a journalist of the Qatar-based Al Jazeera satellite broadcaster on suspicion of links to Al Qaeda.

Police sources said the correspondent, Tayssir Alluni, had been arrested on the orders of judge Baltasar Garzon.—AFP
