KARACHI: Killings of Muttahida men condemned

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 2: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Mohajir Qaumi Movement chiefs, in separate statements issued here on Tuesday, condemned the killings of two Muttahida activists.

In a statement from London, Muttahida chief Altaf Hussain expressed sympathy with the families of the deceased Naveed Murtaza, former member of defunct organizing committee and Asif, member of Liaquatabad sector committee.

He prayed for the departed souls to rest in eternal peace and fortitude for the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.

Muttahida’s convener Dr Imran Farooq also condemned the incident and demanded of Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar to arrest the killers.

While condemning the killings, MQM-H chief Afaq Ahmed termed it an outcome of the party’s internal rifts. He was of the view that solving differences at gunpoint was condemnable.

He asked the national institutions to take notice of terrorism incidents in the city, as the failures of the government was a threat to the lives of citizens.
