Ministry told to implement Police Order by 30th

ISLAMABAD, Sept 1: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has directed interior minister Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat to ensure the implementation on the Police Order 2002 in the country before Sept 30, the interior minister told reporters at the National Assembly.

In an hour-long meeting with the interior minister held at General Headquarters (GHQ), the president emphasized the need for improving law and order situation and maintaining peace in the country.

“The president wants strict implementation on the Police Order ... ,” the minister said.

The president expressed his concern over violations along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, asking the minister to take steps to ensure foolproof border security.

The president also expressed concern over the law and order situation in Punjab and Balochistan, directing the interior minister to eliminate terrorism from the two provinces.
