US economic policy

WASHINGTON, Aug 30: US President George W. Bush on Saturday defended his much-criticized attempts to put the economy on track and said he would make a new attempt to ensure “steady and reliable” energy supplies after recent blackouts.

Bush devoted his weekly radio address over the Labour Day holiday weekend to the economy, expressing confidence that it was rebounding while admitting that it was difficult to create much-needed new jobs.—AFP
