KARACHI: 10-year-old girl gang-raped

KARACHI, Aug 26: A ten-year-old girl was subjected to gang- rape by unknown persons in Model Colony late on Monday.

Police said that the young girl had gone out from the house to fetch some vegetables, however, she was kidnapped on her way.

After waiting for hours, her father started searching for her and found her in a precarious condition at a deserted place in Model Colony. The victim was shifted to JPMC for treatment.

She told the police that four men had kidnapped her and raped. Police have lodged an FIR against unknown persons and also detained some men for interrogation.

STABBED TO DEATH: A young man was stabbed to death and his relatives were injured by his neighbours over a petty issue in North Karachi on Tuesday morning.

Police said that Muzaffar Ilyas clashed with his neighbours, who used to peep into his house in Sector 5-A/3 of North Karachi. He had asked his neighbours not to peep into his house. On this, his neighbours identified as Salam, Zubair and Muzaffar attacked him and his relatives with sharp-edged weapon. As a result, Muzaffar was seriously stabbed while his sister Qaiser Bibi and brothers Munnawar Ilyas and Haider Ilyas were injured.

All the injured were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where Muzaffar was pronounced dead on arrival while his sister and brothers were provided treatment.

Police said that the three suspected persons escaped following the incident.

SHOT DEAD: An elderly man was shot dead by unidentified persons in Korangi on Tuesday morning.

Police said that Mohammad Ali, 70, owner of a brick-making plant in Sector 33-D of Korangi, was sitting at his plant when some motorcyclists shot him dead at around 8:30am.

The victim was a resident of the same sector. His body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination. Police could not immediately ascertain the motive behind the killing.

In another incident, a milkman was shot dead by unknown persons in Orangi Town early on Tuesday morning. Police said that Abdul Ghafoor was on his motorcycle (MNP-3948), when he was shot dead by unknown persons on Shah Waliullah Road.

His body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy examination.
