Karachi Port operations

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 26: Five ships carrying DAP fertilizer, chemical and high speed diesel are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Dong He, Kota Permas and Orient Stride to unload and load containers and Asean Glory to unload DAP fertilizer were berthed.

But sailing on the other hand was active as six ships, Sima Bahar, Kota Teguh, City of London, Kota Permas, Islamabad and Makran departed, while Nirozas, Kota Wajar, Dong He, APL Portugal and Diana-C are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Owing to lesser handling of liquid tonnage, the total tonnage remained on the lower side, totalling 40,799 tons comprising 13,269 tons of export cargo and 27,532 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Bow Desin, with chemicals, Shirvan with crude oil, Hyundai Future, with containers, Pacific Skipper, with general cargo and Engin Captanoolu, with DAP fertilizer.
