KARACHI, Aug 25: A young man was allegedly killed, as a result of an ongoing gang-rivalry, after being kidnapped in Lyari on Monday.

Police said that trussed body of Jasim, 30, was found in a gunny bag in Chakiwara near the 7-C bus terminus.

Jasim was a timekeeper at Gadani bus terminus, who had been allegedly kidnapped by the men of Haji Laloo, a notorious dacoit, and a ransom of Rs5 lacs was demanded after his kidnapping.

The town police officer, Lyari, ASP Ali Mohsin, told Dawn that Jasim was actually working for Rehman dacoit, who used to collect protection money from the bus terminus. He said that it was suspected that leader of a rival gang, Haji Laloo, had kidnapped Jasim and later killed him.

The TPO opined that the killing was related to the ongoing rivalry between the gangs of Rehman and Haji Laloo.

SUICIDE: A young woman committed suicide in her house in Mominabad on Monday.

Police said that Bakhat Bibi, 40, had came to her parents’ house in Bismallah Colony after a fight with her husband.

Her brother was forcing her to go back, but she shot herself in the chest.

Her body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.
