KARACHI, Aug 25: A youth, along with his younger brother was shot dead by his in-laws, in Keamari on late Sunday night.

Police said that wife of Rehmatullah, 22, had went to her parents’ house in Gulshan-i-Sikandarabad after a fight with her husband.

On Sunday night, girl’s father Anwar Khan, invited his son-in-law, who, along with his brother, Ashanullah, 19, and father, Gul Khan, went there.

However, the sons and their father were shot at by Anwar Khan and his sons, who fled after shooting.

The police said that both the brothers died on the spot, while their father escaped with minor injuries.

However, the police claimed to have arrested Riaz Khan, but was still looking for other suspects.

The bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for postmortem examination.

FATALITY: A man was shot dead while resisting a robbery in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Monday.

Police said that a woman, along with her nephew, went to a money changer’s shop in Gulshan-i-Iqbal. After converting the cash, when they came to their house in block-6, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, two unknown armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted them in front of the house and snatched her purse.

Meanwhile, Riaz Husain Bhatti, 55, came out of the house and tried to pose resistance. The armed men shot him twice and escaped with cash over Rs50,000.

The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim had suffered bullet wounds in his kidney and leg.

KILLED: A middle-aged man was killed by unknown persons in his house in Gulzar-i-Hijri, early on Monday morning.

Police said that Mohammad Iqbal, 56, was alone in his house in the Good Earth Bungalows, behind Al-Asif Square, as his family was away to meet some relatives.

Some one sneaked into the house and struck the victim with a blunt weapon in the head.

The police said that no valuables were found missing from the house.

ACCIDENT: A young man died in a road traffic accident in Korangi on Monday.

Police said that Syed Asghar Ali was knocked down in a hit-and-run accident in Korangi J area.

He was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he died during treatment.

The police said that the errant vehicle escaped after the incident.

INJURED: Unknown persons on a motorcycle shot a young man near Peoples Chowrangi early on Monday morning.

Police said that Asim Firdous, 38, was taking a morning walk after offering Fajar prayers at a main road near the Chowrangi, when he was shot at by two motorcyclists.

The police said that Asim suffered four bullet wounds, after which he was shifted to a private hospital in North Nazimabad, where he was under treatment.

The police said that the victim runs a construction business, however, the police ruled out his affiliation with any religious group.

ROBBED: House of Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Raheela Tiwana was robbed by unknown persons in Defence View late on Sunday night.

Police said that unknown persons barged into the house G-185 after breaking the locks and escaped with gold ornaments, valuables and some artifacts.

The police said that deputy speaker had stayed at her sisters house during the night, however, when she returned to her house on Monday morning she found the house robbed.
