ISLAMABAD, Aug 25: The Central Board of Revenue on Monday launched its generic job description (GJD) report for enhancement of skills of tax officials as a part of restructuring of the tax administration.
Speaking on the occasion here, CBR chairman Riaz Ahmed Malik said these job descriptions would link the future performance of tax officials with the desired new work culture aligning the organization and each of its position with the vision, mission and values of the CBR.
He said the GJD would bring the result focus on the following dimensions for each position: revenue and service related objectives, taxpayers and internal customers related objectives and employees’ related objectives.
All BS-17 and above officers of the Customs and Income Tax Group based at Rawalpindi/Islamabad numbering around 250 attended the launching ceremony.
The GJD of CBR contains the main purpose and key result areas of each job from BS-1 to BS-20, and includes the required knowledge, skills and qualities for each position along with its main responsibilities and the expected performance standards.
The CBR chairman said these GJDs would serve as benchmarks for the performance evaluation and for grant of special rewards and pay.
