KARACHI: SDA to seek support for LFO, Thal canal


KARACHI, Aug 24: Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA) President and provincial minister for population welfare, Imtiaz Ahmad Sheikh has hinted at launching a drive in Sindh to seek public support for Legal Frame Work Order (LFO), and construction of more dams and canals in the province to overcome acute water shortage.

He stated this while talking to representatives of different social organizations, office-bearers of SDA and other political figures which called on him at his residence on Sunday.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included members Sindh assembly, Ashwar Lal, Dr Manzoor Leghari, Afshan Imran, and Rajvir.

Underscoring the need for construction of more dams in the province, the minister pointed out that owing to lack of storage facilities, almost two-thirds of rain water got wasted during last month’s rains.—PPI
