Kidnapped men not released

By Our Staff Correspondent

QUETTA, Aug 23: Three personnel of Zhob Militia — a wing of Frontier Corps Balochistan — who were abducted by a group of Afghan tribesmen from Karez Qamaruddin area a small town at Pakistan-Afghan border, were not released by the kidnappers till late on Saturday night.

A four-member jirga comprising tribal elders and government officials had a meeting with kidnappers on Friday for the release of three personnel of Zhob Militia but talks remained inconclusive as tribesmen put some demands for their release.

They were demanding citizenship of Pakistan, a big piece of land and jobs for the people of Suleman Khel tribe. They told the negotiation team that they would not release the militiamen until their demands were met.
