Film actors, workers on strike in BD

By Our Correspondent

DHAKA, Aug 23: Bangladesh’s film industry was paralysed when film artistes, directors, editors and technicians went on an indefinite strike on Saturday in protest against a ban on a film actress and declaring two producers persona nongrata in the FDC (Film Development Corporation) premises.

The Emergency Action Committee of the Bangladesh Film Producers and Distributors Association (BFPDA) slapped a ban on actress Popy, for allegedly not returning the signing money to the producer of a movie. Protesting the BFPDA action, the Bangladesh Film Federation (BFF) called the indefinite strike.
