KARACHI, Aug 22: Two container ships, Ville De Mars and Maersk Avon, scheduled to load and offload containers were allotted berths at the QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday.

Six ships were busy in loading/offloading containers, coal, edible oil and crude oil.

Cargo handling activity remained brisk totalling 99,638 tons comprising 82,400 tons of import cargo and 17,238 tons of export tonnage.

Sailing was slow as only one ship, Ville De Mars sailed out, while Maersk Avon, Emblem and Atlantic Sol were due to leave the port.

Two ships, Chemroad Luna and Stolt Sincerity were expected to take berths at Marginal Wharf and Engro Vopak Terminal, while Eburna and Asia Grace are due to arrive at port on Saturday.
