BADIN, Aug 21: The District Relief Committee, Badin, has demanded that the government should immediately release Rs50 million or supply ration equivalent to the amount for distribution among the rain victims in the district as the majority of the victims were still looking for relief goods.
The demand was made at a meeting of the District Relief Committee held here on Thursday at the Circuit House, under the chairmanship of Syed Ali Bux Shah.
All the members of the District Relief Committee except the district Nazim, Kamal Khan Chang, and the Taluka Nazim, Badin, Dr Musarrat Hussain Khwaja, attended the meeting.
The meeting was told that no food commodity was available in stock after disposal of nine trucks loaded with ration on Thursday.
They said that the majority of the rain-affected people would not only suffer but could be deprived of relief ration, if its immediate supply was not restored.
The committee directed all the EDOs to report in detail the damages and losses caused during the rains.
The committee also expressed concern over expired medicines being sent and showed some samples.
