ISLAMABAD, Aug 21: The minister for petroleum and natural resources, Chaudhry Nouraiz Shakoor, distributed confirmation letters among 642 work charge employees of Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) here.
Earlier, speaking at a gathering of OGDCL employees, he said the company was considered among the best oil and gas exploration enterprises in the world.
He said the company had always surpassed the production targets and now was producing about 22,000 barrels of oil and 800 million cubic feet gas per day.
“This success is the result of hard work and dedication of the officers and workers of the Company,” he added.
Congratulating the employees, who now have been merged in the company permanently, he urged them to work with more dedication and devotion for the progress of the company.
He said the government would look into the genuine demands of employees and take all possible steps for their solution.
He directed the administration to appoint a close relative of an OGDCL worker, who was killed by terrorists while carrying out his duties at an oil and gas installation in Baluchistan.
The Minister also announced one bonus for all employees of OGDCL on the occasion.
The OGDCL managing director, Najam Kamal Haider, said the company was playing a vital role for the country’s development.
The Company, through a joint venture, would soon start oil and gas exploration activities in deep sea, he added.—APP
