KARACHI: Man shot dead

KARACHI, Aug 21: A middle-aged man was shot dead by unidentified persons at Safoora goth on Thursday.

Police said that Johar Ali, 50, hailing from Dir, NWFP, father of eight children, was standing at a bus stop at Safoora goth on Thursday, when unknown persons, riding a motorcycle, shot him and escaped.

The police said that victim, who suffered a bullet wound in the chest, was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police suspected some enmity as a possible motive behind the attack.
