KARACHI: Young man dies in accident

KARACHI, Aug 21: A young man died and his companion was injured when they were knocked down by a police vehicle in Gizri late Wednesday night.

Police said Baba Michael, 40, and his associate Mukesh were on their motorcycle when they were hit by a police mobile (SP-1160).

Police said a passerby noted down the registration number of the police vehicle.

A senior police official confirmed that the vehicle belonged to the TPO of Site.

A case was lodged at the Gizri police station against the driver of the vehicle, the police added.

WASHED ASHORE: A body, presumed to be of a fisherman, who had drowned off the Cape Montz during a fishing trip on Wednesday, was washed ashore.

Officials of the Emergency Rescue Centre Hawksbay, told Dawn that body was found at the Hawkesbay beach on Thursday morning.

However, the body could not be immediately identified, and was handed over to the Edhi Foundation.
