Murder of journalist condemned

LAHORE, Aug 18: Education minister Mian Imran Masood has expressed grief over the murder of a local Urdu daily reporter, Raja Ejaz.

Raja Ejaz was murdered by unidentified dacoits on resistance near Pind Dadan Khan. The education minister said the culprits would be apprehended and brought to the book.

In a condolence message issued on Monday, Mr Masood prayed that Allah Almighty might rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

Meanwhile, different teachers associations have also condemned the incident.

Joint Action Committee of teachers, doctors and students chairman Nazim Hasnain asked the government to take prompt measures to arrest the culprits and punish them accordingly. — Reporter
