MULTAN, Aug 18: Returning officer and additional district and sessions judge Falak Sher Farooka on Monday accepted nomination papers of all three candidates after no objections were filed against them for Sept 8 bypolls for the vacant seat of Multan Saddar tehsil Nazim.
The last date for withdrawal of papers is Aug 25, while allotment of election symbols and publication of the list of candidates will be held on Aug 26.
The candidates whose nomination papers have been accepted are Shaukat Imran, Shaukat Hayat Bosan and Latif Ansar Siyal.
ROBBERY: A man was deprived of Rs3,000 in cash and motorcycle by two robbers at the railway crossing here on Sunday night.
Nadeem of Mohallah Maharaja told the Delhi Gate police that he was on his way when he was intercepted by two armed men. The bandits snatched cash and motorbike from him and escaped.
