KARACHI, Aug 18: A mother and her daughter were killed by unidentified persons in Buffer Zone on Monday.
According to police sources, Seema Siraj, 45, and her daughter Quratulain, 19, were found in a pool of blood in their house in Sector 15-B of Buffer Zone.
Police shifted the bodies to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Both the deceased were shot in the head from behind, causing instant death. However, the bullet hit the head from such an angel that it could not pierced through the head, but got stuck in the head, police added.
Mr Siraj told police that he had left his family at 10am and went to his marriage hall. At 2pm, when he returned home he found his family lying in a pool of blood, police added.
Police, investigating the case, were not clear about the motive behind the killing. However, they ruled out possibility of dacoity, as none of the valuables were found missing from the house.
DIES: A teenage boy and his sister died when a wall collapsed and fell on them in Cattle Colony on Monday.
Police said that Uzma, 12, and Naveed, 15, were returning home from school along with their grand mother. While passing through Juma Hamayat goth, a wall fell on them.
Both the youngsters died on the spot, while their grand mother was injured.
The bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination, while the elderly woman Basra Bibi was shifted to the JPMC for treatment.
Meanwhile, a young man died in police custody early on Monday morning. Police said that they had arrested Iftikhar Baloch, 22, on the complaint of his parents. The victim was a heroin addict and his parents were fed up with his addiction.
On Sunday night, police picked up Iftikhar and lodged him into the Pak Colony police lockup.
Police said that due to the non-availability of the addictive substance Iftikhar’s condition started deteriorating. He was shifted to the Civil Hospital, however, he reportedly died on way to the hospital.
SUICIDE: A young housewife committed suicide in her house in Ranchor Lines on Monday.
Police said that Shama, 25, wife of Saeed ended her life by hanging herself from the ceiling fan. Her body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The cause behind her suicide could not be immediately ascertained. Police said that the young woman was mother of two children.
ACCIDENT: An unidentified man was crushed to death in Gulzar-i-Hijri on Monday.
Police said that unknown victim in his mid 40’s was crossing the Super Highway when he was knocked down by a water tanker. The victim died on the spot. Later, his body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem examination.
BODY RECOVERED: The body of a teenage boy was washed ashore at the KPT berth on Monday.
Police said that Anar Gul, 15, had drowned into the sea near Natives Jetty Bridge, while giving bath to his donkey on Sunday.
