16-year-old girl commits suicide

By Our Staff Reporter

RAWALPINDI, Aug 17: A 16-year-old girl committed suicide by shooting herself with a pistol in her house in Banni police area on Sunday.

According to the police, the incident came to light on Sunday when Nadia’s parents returned home and found their daughter lying in pool of blood.

While quoting the neighbours, the police said they heard a gunshot from Nadia’s house. The body was handed over to the girl’s parents after autopsy.

Meanwhile, at least 12 people were injured after their bus plunged into a ravine near Bhara Kahu on Sunday, police and hospital authorities said.

The bus was on its way to Kohala from Rawalpindi when the accident took place, apparently due to speeding, the police said.

As a result, 12 people, including a woman, were injured after being trapped in the wreckage of the bus. The injured, two of whom are said to be in critical condition, were shifted to different hospitals in Islamabad.

A Reporter Adds: The capital territory police have arrested two persons, allegedly involved in the killing of a poultry farm supervisor at Thanda Pani, Bhara Kahu, a spokesman for the police said on Sunday.

He said Ghulam Shabir, supervisor of the poultry farm, was killed by his colleagues over a dispute.

The incident came to light when Mukthar, owner of the farm, informed the police that Shabir’s body was laying in a well at the farm. The police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for autopsy.
