Salman Butt hits double century

KARACHI, Aug 16: Salman Butt, the left-handed opener, slammed 233 as Pakistan Academy amassed 429 for three in their second innings on the penultimate day of the four-day match against South Africa Academy at Supersport Park in Centurion on Saturday.

According to details available here, Pakistan Academy are ahead by 348 runs after wiping off the 98-run first innings deficit.

Bilal Asad also notched up a century, making 117 after the tourists resumed the day at 40 for no loss. Naved Latif contributed 30 while skipper Faisal Iqbal was batting on zero.

South Africa Academy scored 279 in their first innings on Friday in reply the visiting team’s 198. Medium-pacers Junaid Zia finished with four for 55, Yasir Arafat three for 59 and Abdul Rauf two for 115.
