KARACHI: Accidents claim two lives

KARACHI, Aug 13: Two persons died in separate road traffic accidents in different parts of the city on Wednesday.

A young motorcyclist died while racing with another motorcyclist in North Nazimabad.

Police said that Mohammad Akram, 36, on his motorcycle (KAD-2832) was speeding with another motorcyclist near Abdullah Girls College North Nazimabad when he lost his balance and got crushed beneath a minibus coming from behind. Police said the minibus (W-55) which crushed Akram was speeding.

The body of Mohammad Akram was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.

Police claimed to have arrested the errant driver on the spot.

In another incident a middle-aged man was crushed by a speeding vehicle on Korangi Road. Police said that Hafeez, 50, was crossing the main Korangi Road near Khayaban-i-Ittehad when he was hit by a speeding car.

The victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police claimed to have arrested the driver of the car.
