KARACHI: No deal with govt: Asif

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 13: Mr Asif Ali Zardari said on Wednesday that his acquittal in the Sajjad Hussain murder case had vindicated his claim that the establishment had wrongfully implicated him in various cases.

He was having an informal talk with newsmen after Judge Abrar Hussain Memon acquitted him in the murder case.

This was the first case instituted against him by the Musharraf regime, in which he was acquitted on Wednesday.

He dispelled the impression that his acquittal in three cases in a months time represented any on going deal with the establishment.

He said the establishment had pressured him many times to leave the country and politics, and had offered his freedom from captivity in return, but he had refused.
