APSEA polls


KARACHI, Aug 13: The All Pakistan Solvent Extractors’ Association (APSEA) elected Mr Abdul Haseeb Pirzada of Indus Valley Solvent Oil Extraction Limited as its Chairman for the year 2003-2004 at a meeting held in Lahore on August 9.

Those elected to the managing committee are Mr. Haroun Rashid (senior vice chairman), Mian Qaiser Shabbir (vice chairman), Shaikh Nishat Ahmed, Mr Shahzad Ali Khan, Khwaja Mahboob-ur- Rehman and Mr. Aamir Bashir.

APSEA’s objectives include promotion of the indigenous cultivation of oilseeds such as sunflower and canola in order to help Pakistan reduce its dependence on imported vegetable oil and protection of the interests of the local solvent extraction industry.
