KARACHI, Aug 13: Pak Suzuki Motor Co. (PSMC) has planned to expand its plant at Bin Qasim, Karachi with an investment of Rs1.3 billion, Chairman and Chief Executive of Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) Japan Osamu Suzuki said here on Wednesday.
Suzuki was speaking at a function to mark 20 years of Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) here.
The PSMC has set its production target at 40,000 units 2003 against the previous year’s 30,000 units, the PSMC Chairman informed Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Liaquat Ali Jatoi here Wednesday during latter’s visit to the plant.
Osamu Suzuki said Pak Suzuki has so far achieved highest deletion of 71pc in Mehran 800cc car.
Federal Minister for Industries and Production Liaquat Ali Jatoi asked the car manufacturing companies to significantly cut car prices and bring their products within reach of common man.
Speaking as chief guest at the function, Jatoi asked the PSMC to set up more production bases in Pakistan to cope with increasing market demand up to Central Asia and broaden its vendors/ dealers network.
He called upon Japanese investors to invest more in Pakistan.—APP
