LAHORE, Aug 9: If All goes well, Puma King, a three-year-old dark-bay colt, looks a better proposition to pick up the spoils in the feature event of the Lahore gymkhana races at the Racecourse on Sunday.

He is contesting in the Okara Plate, a class VII division I handicap race to be run over the sprinting distance of 1000m metres. There are ten runners barring last-minute withdrawals in this sixth and last race of the day.

This colt from Rambo out-of-No Turn, Puma King, has consistently been appearing on the board during his dozen outings. He won twice and was placed second six times.

Among his rivals, Speed Gun, Little Master and Prince Of Peace are confirmed speedsters but have no recent form to fancy for the top honours.

Four-year-old chestnut colt Copper Fields, who has registered back-to-back victories during his previous outings will be going all out to make it three in-a-row in the supporting and fifth event, the Okara Plate, class VII division II.

He should be followed by Birju and Las Pal Mas.

Zuhair Choice and Sugar And Honey are the pick of the seven contestants in the fourth race. Great Boy has come down in the weight scales considerably but shown no form yet. They should fight for the spoils.

The first, second and third race seems to be open affair. There are a number of chance mounts in the three which may make winner-picking a difficult task for the punters.

In all six events have been carded for the afternoon programme. All races will be contested over the sprinting distance of 1000m.

The first race will be held at 3pm.
