Cases of 115 schools sent to CDA chief
ISLAMABAD, Aug 8: The deputy commissioner of the Capital Development Authority has forwarded the cases of 115 private schools functioning in residential areas in the capital to CDA Chairman Chaudhry Abdul Rauf.
According to official sources, the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) of the CDA has asked the chairman to close these school immediately for violating rules.
They said on the DMA request, the CDA chief had ordered publication of the list of illegal private schools operating in different sectors. The chairman also directed the DMA staff to paste notices outside the schools and close all the illegal private educational institutions with the help of the district administration.
Meanwhile, 26 schools’ administrations have clarified that their institutions had been established before 1999 so they should be exempted from the order.
As many as nine of the schools were found in accordance to rules and the CDA has decided to regularize these schools on the basis of their documents.
The CDA chief instructed the officers of the concerned directorates to dislodge all illegal private schools operating in different residential areas in order to beautify the city.—APP
