Giyal blast victims assured of medical facilities

ISLAMABAD, Aug 7: The government is extending all possible help, including best medical facilities to victims of the recent blast in Giyal village in the Northern Areas’ Diamer district.

This was stated by Minister for Health Mohammad Nasir Khan during his visit on Wednesday evening to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, where victims of the Diamer blast were being treated.

The minister was accompanied, among others, by Prof Dr Khaliquz Zaman, the doctor in-charge hospital emergency and executive director of PIMS, Dr Syed Fazal Hadi and other senior doctors of the hospital.

The health minister directed the hospital administration to provide best medical treatment to the patients.

He said that five more patients from the Northern Areas would be admitted to the hospital after they were fit enough to travel to Islamabad from the DHQ Gilgit.

The Minister said that an inquiry into the cause of the blast had been initiated.

The Health Minister said that the government was taking special measures to make the hospitals more patient-friendly besides equipping them with modern medical facilities.—APP
