KARACHI, Aug 7: Seven ships carrying containers, tallow, rock phosphate and soda ash are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four ships, Hyundai Sprinter, Kota Tegap, to unload and load containers, Lauren to off-load chemicals, and Warbah to off-load high speed diesel.

Five ships, Manhattan Bridge, Mar Challenger, Hyderabad, Lauren and Nur Yanbu departed on Thursday, while Mercs Komari, Taraman Bibi, Sima Bahar, Tai He, and Kota Tegap were due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was fairly brisk as the total tonnage rose to 0.104m tons comprising 39,193 tons of export cargo including 2,630 tons of rice and 18,600 tons of molasses and 64,771 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Friday: Oriental Bouqust, Sinar Riaw, Norasia Noor, Wan Hai-303, Kwang Tung, with containers, Islamabad, with rock phosphate and Zhing Yang Men, with soda ash.
