WITH reference to a Dawn’s report on the Punjab Assembly resolution on acid crimes, published on Aug 6, MPA Humaira Awais Shahid has clarified that she belongs to the National Alliance and not the PML-Q. She said that her unanimously-passed resolution, seeking an amendment to the Pakistan Penal Code, falls in the federal domain. It cannot be referred to a committee and will instead be referred to the federal government as a proposal to legislate on acid crimes with stress on the recommendations included in her resolution.
