Ban on direct trade with Afghanistan, CARs will go

NOWSHERA, Aug 6: Federal Minister for Industries Liaquat Ali Jatoi on Wednesday said the government had decided to lift the ban on direct trade with Afghanistan and Central Asian republics by the businessmen and entrepreneurs of the Frontier province.

He was speaking at a high-level meeting held at the export processing zone in Risalpur here. NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar.

Mr Jatoi said a notification in this regard would be issued soon.The ban lifting would promote a direct trade through land routes between the NWFP and Afghanistan and CARS, he said.
